Botanical Beats
Saving the plants of the Firs Botanical Grounds one beat at a time
Funded By
Botanical Beats is a community outreach campaign aiming to increase the visibility & volunteering of the Firs Environmental Research Station to tend to its unique and rare botanical collection.
Featuring samples from the Firs and improvisation from more than 20 local musical artists, Trees.R.Good will produce 20 ‘Botanical Beat’ across 5 biomes in the Firs. These will be made available as a QR code next to the plant’s name tag - resulting in an audio trail playlist volunteers and visitors can listen to whilst tending to the collection.

Trees.R.Good
vouch to make music for a clear purpose to foster:
1) Musical creativity inspired by the plethora of Life, Ecosystems and ecological processes that supports us all,
(2) Biodiversity through key musical and practical messages aimed at promoting local biodiversity wherever we might be,
(3) Sustainability through only using services promoting local, & in-demand production of musical and merchandise products through a circular economy lens,
(4) Local actions towards environmental protection, and activism,
(5) Community towards its public-facing activity at the intersection of volunteering, live music performance and cross-disciplinary collaboration showcasing historically underrepresented groups of diverse genders and identities in an intersectional, decolonised, activist, and democratic manner
